About Nostalgics Big Band
The Nostalgics Big Band is a 20 piece jazz orchestra in Lancaster, Ohio. The band was formed 1n 1989 by and from members of the Lancaster Community Band. In the early years, the band made its home at the Olivedale Senior Center and played monthly dances there. As time has gone by, the band was engaged to play an increasing number of dances, concerts, community events, festivals, and school performances throughout Central and Southeast Ohio.
Embracing both the traditions and the innovations of Big Band music, we infuse each arrangement with a blend of nostalgia and modern sophistication. Our mission is to reignite the love for this classic genre and to create unforgettable musical experiences that resonate with audiences around the world. The band's repertoire will include everything from traditional big band swing (Glenn Miller, Count Basie, etc.) to contemporary tunes (Adele, Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire) of all styles. Our performances will include music that all audiences can recognize and enjoy.
